The Santa Rosa Plateau
39400 CLINTON KEITH RD. MURRIETA | 951-677-6951 Map
GO ON A HIKE! The Santa Rosa Plateau is an 8,300 acre ecological reserve, filled with hiking trails, horseback riding, mountain biking, and two of the oldest standing structures in Riverside County. Two adobe bunkhouses built in 1846 stand near one of the parks picnic areas shared by a 400 year old oak tree.
Hiking is a great opportunity for family physical fitness and well being. Walk off those holiday pounds and enjoy the beauty of nature. On a recent hike, I saw two hawks, a coyote and an 8 point deer! NOTE: the Santa Rosa Plateau is divided by Clinton Keith Rd. The left or east side of Clinton Keith houses the visitor center and many well traveled hiking trails. The right or west side of Clinton Keith is more remote and the trails a bit more rocky (mountain bikers and horseback riders mainly use these trails), but, if you travel up the mountain on a clear day you can see ocean.
