Field trips are one of the best educational tools for children. At GSLS we require field trips as part of each grades curriculum; and we encourage all students and parents to attend.
All students are required to have a signed permission slip before leaving on a field trip. Handwritten notes and phone calls granting permission to go on a field trip will not be accepted.
Parents may volunteer as drivers and/or chaperones for field trips. We realize parents have responsibilities at work and at home, but we encourage each parent to try to attend at least one field trip, as this is a great way to bond with your child. Time is a precious thing that cannot be recaptured. A day with your child can provided memories that are priceless for both of you. Before driving to any event, drivers are required to submit a "Volunteer Driver Form" and a copy of their driver’s license and current proof of auto insurance to your child's teacher.
