Dear Parents,

We have a busy week ahead of us. Our first field trip, to Riley’s Farm, is this Thursday. We will leave school after chapel at 9:15 in order to be there for a 10:30 program. Since we are on a field trip that day, the kids should wear spirit shirts, jeans, and tennis shoes. Remember to send a sweatshirt as the weather forecast looks cold. Also, pack a sack lunch. We will return to school by 2:00 so the kids won’t miss their afternoon Spanish class. We have a Chapter 2 Social Studies test on Wednesday. Study guides are in the weekly folder. We will be adding 4 new states and capitals to our list. They are: Annapolis, Maryland, Dover, Delaware, Hartford, Connecticut, and Trenton, New Jersey.

As a reminder, Book Reports are due on October 21st.  Hopefully your child has selected a third grade reading level book and is reading it to prepare. There is a Scholastic book order form in the folder today. Any orders should be submitted by October 14th. Next week is our observance of drug-free Red Ribbon week. We have various school activities planned, including a jog-a-thon on Friday, October 14th, with proceeds going to Teen Challenge. Volunteers for the event are needed. Please let me know if you are available.

The memory verse for the week is:

Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.   John 20:29

Have a blessed week-

Mrs. Sullivan
