Discipline

We will be using a discipline policy that includes rewards as well as consequences. If a student does not follow class rules they will receive a warning. If behavior continues they will start receiving tally marks on the Behavior Board. Each tally mark results in the loss of 5 minutes playtime at recess. Any child receiving more than 5 tally marks in a day will bring home a classroom discipline report. Your child will bring home a weekly behavior report in a folder on Monday which will also contain all work from the past week for you to review. It is important that you SIGN THE BEHAVIOR REPORT and RETURN IT ON TUESDAY, along with the empty weekly work folder.

The reports will list behavior as follows:

   Excellent (0-2 points lost)

   Good (3-5 points lost)

   Satisfactory (6-8 points lost)

   Needs Improvement (9-12 points lost)

   Unsatisfactory (13 or more points lost)

I would encourage you to enforce this policy at home with rewards and consequences for weekly behavior.
