Read It!  Read It! is a sight word program that tests children's ability to read sight words.  Each child will have a frog that can jump to numbered lily pads as they pass levels.  Read It! allows students to pass 1st grade words and even graduate into 2nd and 3rd grade words.  Many students in previous years have left First Grade knowing 1st through 3rd grade sight words. 

Read It! Read It! will begin Sept. 28th and from then students will be tested each week and given a list of words to take home and study.  I encourage parents to read this list of words each day with their kids after students have read the Phonics Book assignment for at least 20 minutes.   Students should be able to read a sight word as soon as they see it or they don't know it well enough.  One minute a day is all the practice it should take for them to know the list before the next oral test day. 

Each student has their name on our purple Read It! chart underneath the white board.  Come in the classroom and watch the kids fill up the chart with stickers as they successfully read their sight words!
